Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has spoken about his preferred position on the pitch, revealing that he is comfortable playing in any forward role.

The versatile forward, who has been deployed on both wings and sometimes as a central striker during his career, has been used recently on the left wing for the Ghana national team, sparking some criticism of head coach Otto Addo’s tactics.

However, the 25-year-old attacker in an interview with Stadium Astro said he is confident in his ability to adapt to various attacking positions.

Seriously, I feel like I’m comfortable playing in any role across the forward positions. This comes with the ability to use both feet, I think. I’m comfortable playing whether on the left, right, or in the middle.

Semenyo also stated that this is the best he has felt both physically and mentally since joining the Premier League club.

I feel like feeling 100% is one of the things I’ve been hoping for the past couple of years. There haven’t been any major problems so that’s a good thing.

The Black Stars forward credited his progress to manager Gary O’Neil, saying:

I feel like I’m developing my game a lot more and that comes down to the manager. He seems to be able to maximise my abilities and attributes.

Looking to finish season strong

This season, Semenyo has enjoyed a strong start to the season, scoring five goals and providing two assists, contributing to Bournemouth’s rise to 7th place in the league.

And he’s looking forward to finishing the season much stronger.

It has been a good start and the only way is up.
