The current set-up comprises of players from the various clubs in Ghana, including Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, WAFA and Aduana Stars.

However, Head of Communications for Kotoko, Obed Acheampong, believes the club deserves to have more players in the squad.

“We do feel that others like Ahmed Adams, Jackson Owusu should also make the team," he said in an exclusive interview with Pulse.com.gh.

He added that Kotoko's players currently with the Black Stars B squad  showed their quality when the club faced rivals Hearts of Oak last Sunday, describing their performance in the 1-1 draw as "great".

“The players in the Black Stars B exhibited quality when they played against Hearts of Oak. We all did see the great performances of players like Felix Annan, Amos Frimpong, Emmanuel Gyamfi and Awal Mohammed.

"There were complaints with that of Saddick Adams but from the point of view of the officials and technical team he did play according to tactics. His role on the day was largely to hold up play and that is what he did."

Commenting on the outputs  of Coach Steve Pollack since taking charge of the club, Obed Acheampong said:“Coach Steve Pollack was not given any specific target when he took over. However, the club lied 7th on the log and it was not acceptable for a club like Kumasi Asante Kotoko. The coach has taken us higher on the table and he feels that since there is a mathematical chance of winning the ultimate there is no need to give up.

"The one month break has given Kotoko a bit of a breathing space to recuperate from the accident and clear our outstanding games. It is not that much of a break like it is for the other teams since we have outstanding matches with that break”.

Kotoko still have matches against second-placed WAFA and another FA Cup tie against Salamina as part of their outstanding games.
