The German-trained coach was appointed as interim head trainer after David Duncan was sacked due to the club’s shambolic display in the Ghana Premier League.

Kotoko after match day 6 were bottom on the log sheet. Osei has since led the club to second on the table with 30 points after 17 games. Michael Osei guided the Kumasi giants to beat Hearts of Oak on penalties to win the 2016 President’s Cup on Friday, June 1, 2016.

“You can see the team is now playing very well. I can’t judge any coach but I think Osei has done really well for Kotoko,” the former Ashanti Gold forward told Graphic Sports.

“I just joined the team last month but his personality is absolutely wonderful and I am not surprised we were able to win the President’s Cup. He should stay and I believe he will help the team mature well,” he added.
