CK Akonnor at the Accra City Hotel announced his 23-man squad for Ghana’s double-header against Sudan in late March in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The head coach of the Black Stars in response to whether Kevin-Prince Boateng is still part of his plans as the new coach of the senior national football team of Ghana said that after speaking to him, he thinks the ex-Barcelona forward doesn’t want to play for Ghana again.
“… for Prince Boateng we spoke, I don’t think he wants to play for the Black Stars again” he said in a response to a question asked earlier.
Kevin-Prince Boateng reacted to this post on Twitter that no one has spoken him to him.
“No one ever tried talking to me #nottrue” he posted on his Twitter handle.
After being asked to clarify whether his reply meant no journalist has attempted to get him interviewed or CK Akonnor hasn't contacted him, Kevin-Prince Boateng responded by stating Akonnor has had a great conversation with him, but they never spoke about his Black Stars return.
