Cubs' Kyle Hendricks leaves game two after getting hit

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks left Saturday's National League (NL) Division Series game against the San Francisco Giants in the top of the fourth inning after taking an Angel Pagan line drive to his right arm.

Manager Joe Maddon and a trainer came onto the field to examine Hendricks, but he was deemed unable to continue.

Travis Wood took Hendricks' place and struck out Conor Gillaspie to end the inning.

Wood then stepped up and hit a home run in the bottom of the inning.

He is just the third Cubs pitcher to hit a postseason home run, joining Kerry Wood (2003) and Rick Sutcliffe (1984).

Hendricks, who led MLB in ERA this season, had already driven in two runs earlier in the game, becoming the first pitcher with a multi-RBI game in the postseason since Brett Myers drove in three for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008.

The Cubs tweeted that Hendricks' X-rays came back negative and he is being treated for an arm contusion.
