South Africa have called up uncapped batsman Stephen Cook for the fourth and final Test against England.
The Proteas head into the match at Centurion, which starts on January 22, looking to salvage some pride after a seven-wicket battering in the third contest left them trailing by an unassailable 2-0 series deficit.
Cook has subsequently been added to the team and the 33-year-old may earn his opportunity having impressed in domestic cricket.
Should Cook be named in South Africa's XI for the match he would become part of the first-ever father-son combination to play Test cricket for the Proteas.
Cook's father, Jimmy, played three Tests for South Africa against India and Sri Lanka between 1992 and 1993.
