Remember the Star Wars prequels? You know, the infamous Star Wars prequels that started it allit, of course, being all the toxic fanboy culture , complaining, and oh another council scene, how boring; c'mon, the prequels weren't really all that bad. They gave us Darth Maul, and infinite angsty Anakin memes. And most importantly, they gave us Ewan McGregor as young Obi-Wan. They gave us Ewan McGregor as young Obi-Wan, goddamnit. Not bad at all.

Apparently, fans share that Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan passion, and his Padawan braid (read: clip-on rattail) went to auction last month, selling at 1,400 (about $1,700, though many reported the sale at $3,000.)

Last night on A Little Late with Lilly Singh, McGregor was asked what he thought about the sale .

"I'm mortified because a) it's not hair that I grew; it was stuck on every day. And b) it was stuck on every day, a different one. It wasn't this one," he said.

McGregor explained they had shot the film over the course of four months, and that each day he would be outfitted with a different rattail. "There's a whole bank of them somewhere," he went on. "Some guy paid three grande for something that's not really that special." Ouch.

McGregor will be reprising his not-very-specially braided character in an upcoming Disney + series. No release date has been announced and the project is not yet titled. But it's happening! And since Obi-Wan has aged and is no longer a Jedi in training (We saw how grizzled he had become by Revenge of the Sith, even!), there won't be any worthless rattails to auction off. Too bad!
