This Guy's Awesome Watchmen Looking Glass Costume Already Won Halloween
Earlier this month, Watchmen actor Tim Blake Nelson told Men's Health that the reason why Watchmen was being released in October was so that "people can wear our costumes for Halloween." And while of course the actor who plays the mysterious Looking Glass on HBO's new quasi-adaptation of the beloved graphic novel was clearly joking, it also looks like he was onto something. One fan, in particular, shared a picture of his on-the-spot costume depicting Nelson's character, mirror-faced-mask and all.
"I dressed as Looking Glass from # . No one gets the reference and theyre all weirded out when I ask whether theyre a member of, or if they associate with members of the white supremacist group known as the 7th Kavalry," Blaine Gibson, a writer and director for Roosterteeth Productions wrote in a Tweet he shared earlier this week. The caption, of course, references Looking Glass (or as he's referred to in the show, LG) interrogating a suspected white supremacist in ' The Pod ' in the show's first episode.
Gibson included a photo of his costume, which captured the essence of Looking Glass to a teeshiny mask, and relatively normcore jacket and pants included. While some people in the replies said that Gibson resembled the supernatural urban myth killer Slender Man , we think this costume looks pretty dead-on:

The real Looking Glass, Nelson, spoke at length about the mask during his Men's Health interview, revealing that while filming the first few episodes, he could actually barely seehis goal was to see 40% of what his scene partner was doing. You need your partner, and what they're giving you, so that you can give back to them," he said. "It's like ping pongyou don't want a situation where you can't see the ball.
