The nominees list for the 89th Academy Awards has been announced. Movie musical La La Land led all contenders with a record-tying 14 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Director. The 14 noms tie a record previously held by 1997s Titanic and 1950s All About Eve.

"Arrival" and "Moonlight" were just behind with eight nominations each with Hacksaw Ridge, Lion and Manchester by the Sea earning six apiece and Fences and Hell or High Water with four nods.
