AG To Advise Mahama On Dzamefe C’ssion Report, Officials Indicted

President John Mahama has been given the long-awaited Justice Dzamefe Commission report into Ghana’s participation in the 2014 World Cup.

The 400 page document emanated from the sitting of Justice Dzamefe, Moses Foh Amoaning and KofiAnokye Owusu Darko over a two month period to investigate the circumstances leading to Ghana airlifting $3 million dollars to the national football team,the Black Stars during the World Cup.

The delay in the receipt of the document by the president had led to a public outcry over the lack of interest by the government to act upon the report of the Commission.

Several revelations were made during the sitting of the Commission including the fact that a consultant was paid $20,000 for directing caterers for Ghana fans in Brazil to a super market.

Mahama set up the three-member Commission to investigate the backroom rumpus that contributed to Ghana’s early exit from the global showpiece in Brazil.

Receiving the report at the Flagstaff House Monday, President Mahama described it as a “good one” and promised that government will act on it.

President Mahama however handed over the report to the Attorney General’s Department to study and to advice on the way forward.

He commended the commissioners for their dedication throughout the four-month sitting.
