New Swansea recruit received £5.7m as signing on fee

Ghana winger Andre Ayew received £5.7m as a signing fee before signing for Welsh club, Swansea.

The 25-year-old was signed in a bosman transfer at the expiration of his contract at Lique 1 club, Marseille but according to French newspaper,he forward was paid a signing-on fee of about £5.7m.

Swansea fought off reported interest from Liverpool, AC Milan, Roma and Bayer Leverkusen to land the 25-year-old and it seems the huge signing off was part of the ways they snagged their target.

In addition to the sign-on fee, the forward also signed a four-year deal worth £50,000, making him the best paid in the Welsh club.
