Liverpool owners have agreed to give Brendan Rodgers another season as manager of the club.

After a disastrous season which saw them fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and finish without a trophy, Liverpool chairman Tom Werner and Fenway Sports Group chief executive Mike Gordon on Tuesday, June 2 undefined.

According to , Rodgers managed to convince the Liverpool chiefs that he will be able to move the club to the next level despite this season's failings.

The 42-year-old manager has however been given specific targets which must be met next season or he faces the axe.

For next season, Rodgers according to reports has started talks with one of his summer transfer targets.

Liverpool are said to be favourite to secure he services of Manchester City midfielder, James Milner who is set to become a free agent next month.

Liverpool have held advanced talks with Milner, who is available on a free transfer, and have tabled an offer of around £150,000.

Liverpool are also expected to sign Burnley forward Danny Ings while they are also in the frame to move for Aston Villa striker, Christian Benteke.
