Online community starts crowdfunding campaign to support family of Captain Max Mahama
The online community has responded generously to the murder of the Ghanaian soldier, Captain Maxwell Mahama.
The campaign was started by Modesta Adewuje Alobawone, a woman based in Elizabeth, New Jersey on Tuesday May 30, 2017. According to the message she added to the campaign, “this campaign was created to help support the military family of the late Captain Maxwell Mahama who was mistaken [for] an armed robber and senselessly lynched in Ghana.

He left behind a wife and two beautiful children to whom we are hoping the funds will help support. We are also hoping that the proceeds from this fund help with the cost of education for his two children and help with the upkeep of his family. We hope that your generous heart will make a difference in this young family hit by such a tragedy. Thank you so much and may God richly bless you!!!”
At the time of publication, the campaign had reached 930 dollars with 19 donors and has categorised as trending by GoFundMe.
