The Black Stars captain says Ethiopia will not survive in Sunday’s AFCON qualifier

Black Stars skipper, Asamoah Gyan has warned that Ethiopia will be up against it when they face Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers this Sunday, insisting the Walias “won’t survive”.

The Black Stars will be looking to begin the qualifying campaign for Cameroon 2019 on a good note, but only victory could ensure that.

The team is scheduled to face Ethiopia at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi, with over 20 players having already reported to camp.

Black Stars skipper, Asamoah Gyan is delighted that the team will be playing in front of a Kumasi crowd – two years after last playing in the Garden City – and promises that the team will do its best to defeat Ethiopia.

“Winning this game will boost our confidence for the remaining qualifying games. We have to go all out; they [Ethiopia] won’t survive. We will deal with them,” Gyan told the media after Tuesday’s training session.

The Black Stars are paired in group F, together with the Walias, Sierra Leone and Kenya for a place at the Mundial in Cameroon.
