Roberto Martinez has admitted that Everton’s sharpness in the final third during the win over Swindon was an added bonus.Four second half goals saw the Toffees ease to a 4-0 win at the County Ground on Saturday. And while the match was largely a fitness exercise for the boss, he was thrilled to see such positive attacking play so early in the pre-season schedule. He told evertontv: “The sharp end at this stage of the pre-season is not usual to see, so that's why I was pleased. That sharpness was there straight away.”Martinez fielded almost two separate teams in each half and it was the newly returned Gerard Deulofeu who caught the eye in the opening period, before two-goal Kevin Mirallas struck twice after the break.Indeed, Mirallas’ synergy with compatriot Romelu Lukaku and, particularly, the impressive Conor McAleny, was the most eye-catching facet of the game.Martinez continued: “In the first half I thought Gerard Deulofeu looked really quick and that understanding with the players that is needed will come.“Kevin Mirallas and the combination play with Leon Osman, Romelu Lukakuand Conor McAleny, they had a real threat in their play. All in all, there were many, many good aspects.“Now we need to get a little bit more understanding between us and make sure we can be as clinical as we can, and have the right attitude which is what you need.”
