Staying in the Premier League is our goal - WAFA head coach
West Africa Football Academy(WAFA) beat Kotoko by 2-0 in the outstanding match day 24 fixture to get on top of the league.
The Head Coach of the side Klass Rasmunssen still believes that the target of the team is to stay in the Ghana top flight although they are on top of the Ghana Premier League.
In the press conference after the game he first gave his general assessment of the game.
“From my point of view it was a typical home game where we held on to the ball. It not necessary when you hold on to the ball you win but usually that is the outcome in our home games. This time round we had to be patient and wait to the second half to break the deadlock.”
“It did take set piece for the first and individual brilliance from to get the second. After 1 they opened up more I believe the away team have more to offer because they are also a good team.”I believe they were a bit afraid of us.”
He then went to answer the question on the chances on annexing the league at the end of the season. “For staying in the league we have to accrue 50 points and staying in the league is what is important for us. Until we accrue those points then we can then talk about that issue”
“In this time of the year as well players have to go and if they do not leave at this time of the year then we have not succeeded. A number of them are going and they will continue to go all the time”.
West Africa Academy go on to face Tema Youth in Tema over the weekend and 3 points will inch them 1 point closer to the target of the season attaining 50 points.
It is only time that will tell if that victory or any other that will come in the seven match days to end the season will see them lift the title come the end of match day 30.
