The Public Relations of Officer of Accra Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo has stated the club will just accept responsibility for their loss to Kotoko.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko beat Accra Hearts of Oak at the Tamale Sports Stadium by 3-1.
This was due to a hat trick from Saddick Adams in the first half before Hearts of Oak skipper replying with header in the second half.
Kwame Opare Addo in speaking to Radio XYZ was explaining how the loss in the Final panned out for the side
“We came into the game with a specific focus and that was to play well in the first half, find our rhythm well form the beginning and relax till the 90th minute to get the result needed."
Kwame Opare Addo went on to congratulate Kotoko for the hard fought victory against his team
“That did not go well for us and we have to congratulate Kotoko. They took their chances”.
Mr Opare-Addo went to say his side have accepted their responsibility and will work towards correcting their mistakes the next time.
“We do not want to blame anybody, we have accepted the responsibility and what we have to do is to look back and then correct the mistakes so that anytime we meet again we will be able to tell our story,”.
Hearts of Oak finished 3rd in the Ghana Premier League Log at the end of the 2016/2017 season. A major trophy has eluded the side since the year 2009 when the team won the league.
