Ghana coach Avram Grant is unhappy with the late start of the Ghana Premier League.

The Ghana Premier League new season has finally been billed to kick start on the weekend of February 20-21 after litigations mauled the earlier proposed date.

The former Portsmouth trainer has been accused in the nation's media of going on a three-month holiday instead of staying in the country to monitor players in the country.Majority of Ghanaians have also questioned Grant’s commitment to the national team.

And after having a conversation with the Israeli tactician, author for whichsideofthefoot.com, Abdul Chibsah, has highlighted why Grant spend much time outside the country.

"His frustration falls on the lack of maintenance of our facilities and pitches. Even more, the poor organization and structure that has led to us not even having a start date to our domestic league, as of January 18, 2016. This is no surprise to any Ghanaian football fan. But above all, Avram Grant applauds the Football Association and their efforts in solving those problems."

Among the cases which delayed the start of the league were a suit filed by Wa Africa United against Techiman City which it accused of bribing its way to qualify for the premiership.

Second tier league side, Tema Youth also took the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to the Court of Abitrtion for Sports (CAS) over the latter’s ruling on a case involving Tema Youth and Dreams FC which was accused of fielding an unqualified player.

The CAS rejected Tema Youth’s application for a stay of execution and injunction siding with the GFA that Tema Youth did not meet the conditions for a stay and injunction.

And reports suggest a meeting between the executive committtee and premier league board members arrived at the new date for the start of the league.
