It is the first of it’s kind and really took fashion designer some years of practice to perfect her skill of braiding after learning from hair stylists in Africa.

“I grew up in Ghana, I went to school there when my family moved over. So I saw the real African technique of braiding. I started learning myself because I am left-handed. When I cut my hair, my natural locks, I couldn’t braid anymore but I still loved the hair art, the braiding technique,” Alice Pokua Oppong told BBC.

Now based in West Germany, Aachen, Alice has launched a handmade couture sew from synthetic hair extensions.

In the interview with BBC, she also revealed that “She wants women to love their own hair and actually see artificial hair as a material or as an accessory”.

The creative designer added that “Hair became a material to me, just as people work with paper or whatever stuff I work with hair”.
