A Home Depot in McHenry, Illinois, was the site of one of the latest mask-related clashes to go viral online this summer.

Footage of the incident features one female shopper who remains offscreen arguing with another female customer over mask policies. Eventually, the shopper onscreen says, "I believe in white power." An ensuing physical fight resulted in the arrest of Teri A. Hill of McHenry believed to be the woman onscreen. She has been charged with battery and disorderly conduct.

The altercation at the home improvement store is just the latest instance of mask-related conflicts erupting in retail establishments in the United States. It also comes at a time when instances of racist harassment and tirades by white individuals have gone viral on social media, as protests over police brutality against Black men, women, and children continue to occur as the summer goes on.

WGN 9 News reported that the July 3 incident began at the Home Depot when Hill took off her mask to ask an employee why mask rules were not being enforced. When fellow shopper Sydney Waters asked Hill to put her mask back on, things escalated from there, according to the WGN 9 News report.

Waters' video of the incident depicts a woman believed to be Hill displaying her middle finger and blocking her face with some kind of phone or tablet.

"So you're in the store complaining that people aren't wearing masks, correct?" Waters said in the video. "Are you hiding now? And you want to say that you're going to cough on me?"

Waters goes on to say that Hill thinks she has "the right to take your mask off to get everyone else sick."

"Meanwhile you just threatened to f------ cough on me during a global pandemic?" Waters said. "Are you for real?" At some point, she says, "The entitlement is disgusting."

The woman in the video responds to Waters by saying, "Yes, I am entitled. I'm white. I'm a woman."

Later in the video, the woman says, "I believe in white power." At that point, the video cuts out in what appears to be a physical altercation.

A McHenry Police Department spokesperson confirmed that Hill "was taken into custody on scene without incident" after the scuffle. Officers arrived at the Richmond Road store around 4:58 p.m. A police spokesperson said that officers "determined there was probable cause to criminally charge" Hill "after collecting independent witness statements and video footage."

"Officers conducted an investigation and learned the two female customers had a disagreement about facial coverings," the spokesperson said in a statement sent to Business Insider. "The disagreement then turned into a physical altercation. Minor injuries were reported on scene with neither customer requesting medical care."

Hill's court date is set for August 19 at 8:30 a.m., and she has been released on a personal recognizance bond, according to police. A Home Depot spokesperson declined to comment.

"I'm a white person and I feel it's my responsibility to go and collect other white people who are running around being atrocious," Waters told WGN 9 News . "And if you want to say 'white power' in my presence, it's not stopping there."
