Ghana has launched the simplest way to communicate locations across the country

AsaaseGPS is the location-based system which will provide the most effective means of addressing every location and place.

The National Digital Property Address System expected to make it easier to find locations and boost service delivery has been launched in Ghana.

The system is expected to among other things aid government policies, planning and offer accurate data for service delivery.

Designed by Ghanaian information technology firm, Vokacom, the system will provide an effective means of addressing every location and place in the country, using an information technology application.

Following the lack of an efficient addressing system, Ghanaians have become accustomed to relying on directions from people as well as landmarks such as kiosks, mobile money vendors among others.

The system, known as the Ghana Post GPS, provides a unique address database of a precise location of properties to make finding locations easy.

AsaaseGPS is the location-based system which will provide the most effective means of addressing every location and place. The system will divide Ghana into grids of 5m x 5m squares and assign each one a unique address, known as a digital address.

The Digital Property Addressing System cost the government of Ghana $2.5 million.
