Jay Cheshire, a sixth form student at Bitterne Park School studying English Literature, Film Studies and Geography, was under intense police investigation after the rape charges were levelled against him.

The investigations however ended in June when the alleged victim made a U-turn and dropped the charges against him.

He however attempted suicide few weeks later and died on the 5th of July at the Southampton General Hospital.

An inquest heard that Jay struggle to cope with the false accusations.

His mother, Karin Cheshire, blames the allegation for his death.

"He was absolutely distraught," Karin told The Telegraph.

"Two weeks later she said she withdrew the allegations."

gathered that Jay hoped to become a history teacher or a writer.
