Some angry parents on Thursday verbally assaulted the headmistress of Tema Senior High School over what they described as the unnecessary delay in the admission process for their children.
The headmistress, Mrs Elizabeth Asare who could not bear the persistent insults by the parents, allegedly dashed to the school’s assembly hall and threw all the prospectus away with anger.
One of the affected parents told Accra-based Oman FM that he came from Akosombo to the school last Monday to secure admission for his son but was told to come on Tuesday.
He said that as at Thursday his son had still not been offered admission.
“I was here on September 6th and was told to come this week and since Monday I have been and they authorities continue to tell as stories,” another parent said.
Some officials from the Ghana Education Service who had arrived at the school early to assess the admission process helped maintain calm.
