Sacked NSS Staff sue government

The aggrieved Staff who filed the suit at the Labour High Court argue that there was no board in place to authorise their termination as required by the NSS Act.

State Attorneys on Monday, March 27 2017, asked the court for additional time to file their statement in opposition to the application.

The Labour High Court however, granted their request and subsequently adjourned the matter to April 5, 2017 for hearing.

On Wednesday, 8 February 2017, the National Service Secretariat sacked all last-minute recruits employed by the former Executive Director of National Service Scheme  Dr. Micheal Kpessah Whyte.

Earlier, Dr. Micheal Kpessah Whyte  urged the sacked workers of the scheme should go to court to seek legal redress.

He said the secretariat followed due process to recruit the staff.
