Parents must partner with teachers for intellectual development of school children - Mrs Kyei-Mensah
Proprietress of Raddy Infant School, Mrs Nayram Kyei-Mensah, decried what she described as a tendency for certain parents to completely offload the responsibility for their children’s educational development onto school teachers.

Speaking to journalists at the second graduation ceremony of Raddy Infant School, the Proprietress stressed that the education of children, especially of infants, is a delicate and continuous process which cannot be limited to the classroom alone.

“So much of the stimuli for knowledge and for character formation are traced outside the classroom to our homes and the social environments within which our children live; the best approach for achieving genuine moral and intellectual development for our children, therefore, is for parents and teachers to collaborate and work as partners,” said Mrs Kyei-Mensah.
She accordingly appealed to parents and guardians to always endeavour to actively support and complement the efforts of teachers in their bid to instill knowledge into children for a better future.
Founded in 2012 as a day-care centre by the late Madam Ruby Dey, Raddy Infant School has today grown to become the most reputable basic learning centre in Sogakope and is run by a dedicated academic staff of eight professional teachers and two non-teaching personnel.
The colourful ceremony marked the graduation of seven young kindergarten scholars to Class One.
The Headmistress, Mrs. Christabel Xornam Awuku, commended parents and guardians for entrusting the task of the academic development of their wards to the school but appealed for teamwork between parents and teachers to ensure that children attain all-round education by the time they complete school.

“It is about time we (parents and teachers) built a strong relationship to create a functional team with the shared goal of providing children with what they need to develop and grow into responsible members of our community and of our dear country,” said Mrs Awuku.
Mr. Wonder Roland Atinyi, a Nutritionist at the Sogakope District Hospital urged parents and guardians to be mindful of what their wards eat, cautioning them against the excessive intake of sugar in children's diet.
The high point of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates of merit to the young graduates but the thrill of the occasion came from a delightful line-up of choreographed Ghanaian dances and drama sketches by school children as well as a giant graduation cake which parents joined pupils and staff to cut.
