Best SHS in every region [SHS Ranking]

A research institute; AB Review looked at the number of students with pass marks from A1 to C6 in the West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) over five years (2011-2015).

AB Review uses statistics of schools performances from 2011 till 2015 to get this list.

AB Review looked at the number of students with pass marks from A1 to C6 in the West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) over five years (2011-2015).

Xavier boys claimed the 2nd position in the overall high school rankings and rank number one of schools in the Upper West Region. Nandom Senior High came a close second in the region. The school’s average pass rate is 94.19%

In the Upper East region, there is only one household name when it comes to SHS, Notre Dame Seminary. According to the research, the school topped the region with an average pass rate of 81.29%.

In the Northern Region, many would have expected Tamale Secondary School (Tamasco) to top the list.

However, Ghanasco beat them to it as the region’s most consistent academic performer. Their average pass rate is 68.38%

With the likes of OLA Girls and Keta SHS in the region, one will expect a keen competition.

But, Biheco is the most consistent academic performers in the region.

Biheco has an average pass rate of 65.02%

The Christian gentlemen beat other schools in the region such as Accra Academy, Achimota School, St Thomas Aquinas and Saint Marys Senior High to the top.

The blue magicians have an average pass rate of 82.22%

The Catholic missionary school beat other schools to the top. They are not the loudest in the region but for now, they are the best.

They beat other schools such as Saint Roses Senior High, Pope John Senior High and Koforidua Sec-tech to the top.

They recorded an average pass rate of 87.45%

This must not surprise any reader. The Gey Hey girls have always proved to be the best even though there is strong competition from Mfantsipim, St Augustine’s College, Adisadel College amongst others.

Wesley Girls’ High School has an average pass rate of 90%

Surprised? Opoku Ware beat the rival Prempeh College.

The report stated that OWASS has enjoyed an outstanding performance in WASSCE since 2011.

The average pass rate is 92.52%

The second girl's school on the list. They beat the likes of GSTS and Saint John’s Senior High to be crowned the best in the Western region.

They have an average pass rate of 79.04%

With this impressive pass rate, based on academic results from (2011-2015), St. James is not only the best high school in the Brong Ahafo Region but the best in Ghana.

Their average pass rate is 99.22%
