Gov't releases GH¢37m for book and research allowance

President John Dramani Mahama made this known during a congregation at the Graduate School of the Kwame Nkrumah University for Science and Technology (KNUST).

This comes on the back of complaints by some teachers at the various universities over the delay in the payment of their book and research allowance with many often engaging in strikes to drum home the issue.

The president revealed that parliament has also passed the bill to back the establishment of another public university in the Eastern region.
