Here’s everything Shatta Wale is getting from the Zylofon Media deal

His mouth-watering contract was announced Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Zylofon Media headquarters at East Legon in Accra.

The 33-year-old self-acclaimed ‘King of Ghana Dancehall’ has become the 6th musician to join the record label.

Here are the details of his contract;

1. The contract was reportedly sealed for a fee of 1.5million

According to reports, the contract was sealed for a fee of 1.5million dollars (GHC 6.7million equivalent). If this is true, Shatta Wale will become the first Ghanaian artiste to ever land a record deal at that price.

2. He will get a brand new Rolls-Royce Phantom plus an apartment

Early reports have said Zylofon Media will hand him a brand new Rolls-Royce Phantom worth about $450,000 (GHC 2,047,230.00). Aside from that, Shatta Wale will be given an apartment where he will live until the contract is over.

3. It’s a 3-year contract

According to the Public Relations Officer of Zylofon Media, Samuel Atuobi Baah ‘Sammy Flex’, the deal will last for 3 years and may be extended depending on the satisfaction on both sides.

4. Management

Zylofon Music will be solely in charge of the management of Shatta Wale. In this case, they may work hand in hand with Wale’s current management. I am not sure if Shatta Wale will have to wipe his current management to allow them to operate.

5. Marketing

The record label will be in charge of Shatta Wale’s brand marketing. This means selling of the Shatta Wale brand and contents will be solely the duty of Zylofon Music.

6. Distribution

Zylofon Music will distribute Shatta Wale’s contents. Sammy Flex stated that “It’s no doubt Shatta Wale has conquered Ghana so Zylofon Media will focus distributing his content across the globe”.

7. Recordings

When it comes to recording songs in Ghana, no one has done it more than Shatta Wale. In 2016, he recorded over 100 songs and repeated the same thing in 2017.

This time, Zylofon Music will pay for all his recordings – even if they are 200 plus songs.

8. …and everything artiste management

Anything regarding artiste management – from brand management to projecting the Shatta Wale vision, dreams and image will solely be the work of Zylofon Media.
