Burkina Faso accuse Ghana of using over-aged players

Coach of Burkina Faso U-17 national team, Seraphine Degari has questioned the ages of the Black Starlets players after they demolished his side on Sunday

Ghana survived a 9th-minute scare from Burkina Faso, as they staged a comeback to win 5-1 courtesy of goals from Emmanule Toku, Eric Ayiah’s brace, Isaac Antah and Nathan Onyinah Opoku at the newly constructed Cape Coast Sports Stadium in the first leg of their African U-17 qualifiers.

The Burkina Faso coach who has doubts about the ages of the Black Starlets has levelled an allegation that Ghana fielded over aged players.

"Ghanaian team were much stronger and may be older than my players. Ghana is not under 17. I am sure they are over aged,” he said in an interview with Joy FM.

"I must take the senior national team to play the so called Ghanaian U-17 team in the second leg."
