Kwadwo Asamoah epitomizes what football can do for my constituency

Hon Patricia Appiagyei has put up a programme to help develop training pitches in the Asokwa constituency where the Black Stars midfielder hails from.

Patricia Appiagyei, the Member of Parliament for the Asokwa constituency has stated that the impact of football in the life of Kwadwo Aasamoah is a clear indication that the most popular game in Ghana can offer jobs to a lot of youth in her constituency.

The MP for Asokwa on Wednesday commissioned a training pitch, which she developed by grassing it and also putting up perimeter fencing at Ahinsan, a suburb in her constituency.

Mama Pat, as she is affectionately called is bent on developing more of those facilities in her constituency and it is her believe that it is an avenue to create employment to the youth in the near future, like it has done for Kwadwo Asamoah, whose talent was developed by Asokwa Deportivo.

“Football can offer the youth in the community a lot of jobs and the feat attained by Kwadwo Asamoah is an example of how far football can take a person to.

“I believe my intention to develop football pitches in my constituency will offer the young ones an opportunity to develop their talents and help reduce the level of unemployment in the community, since jobs are hard to come by  these days, Patricia Appiagyei told Pulse Ghana Sports.

Kwadwo who now plays for the Serie A champions, Juventus was part of the Black Stars team that reached the quarter finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, an African best in the mundial which had only been attained by Cameroon in 1990 and Senegal in 2002.
