The 20-year-old earned his first call up to the German national side for the first time by manager Joachim Löw for the nation's World Cup qualifier against San Marino and a friendly match against Italy in November 2016.

The Bayer Leverkusen full-back, who can also play as a midfielder,  has been spending time with his maternal family Ghana’s capital Accra following the Confederation’s Cup feat in Russia last month.

“I was there, and Germany asked me at the age of 14 to play for the U-15 and as at now I didn’t hear anything from Ghana till now”, Henrich told SportsObama.com.
