Sanni Daara: It isn’t GFA’s responsibility to promote league

The communications director of the GFA has challenged premier league clubs to promote the league themselves.

Ibrahim Sanni Daara believes the promotion of the Ghana Premier League should not be brought to the door step of the Ghana  Football Association, because the clubs should be responsible themselves for the promotion of the league.

The topflight league in Ghana has been criticised of losing its shine due low patronage, absence of topnotch players to excite the fans.

Although there have been steps by the Ghana FA to promote the league including the recent announcement by the President of the association Kwesi Nyantakyi that a deal has been finalized with hip-life musicians to entertain football fans before the start of premier league games commencing next season, the spokesperson of the GFA Sanni Daara thinks the GFA is doing the clubs some favour and it their own duty to help attract fans to the various league centres.

“It is not the responsibility of the GFA to promote the premier league. The clubs should be responsible for that because they have the players at their disposal.

“The clubs have to ensure they create the necessary avenue for their players to interact with the media in order to sell their matches," he told Atinka FM.
