Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has demonstrated his knowledge of the Bible and strong spiritual Christian branding.
Shatta Wale beats Ofori Amponsah
The artiste recited his favourite Bible verses in an interview on Starr FM’s Starr Drive on Thursday when host, Bola Ray asked him to.
“My favourite Bible verse is Psalm 32:8. It says, ‘I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you’,” Shatta recited.
The dancehall artiste recited other verses as well.
It would be recalled that highlife artiste turned Pastor, Ofori Amponsah, choked on a question about his favourite Bible verse in an interview on Starr FM.
After struggling to recite a single verse in the Bible, Ofori Amponsah said, “Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved."
When asked where in the Bible that verse could be located, Amponsah replied: “I can’t give you the exact place it can be found.”
Ofori Amponsah who had wowed Ghanaians with his love songs declared in 2012 that he had received a ‘divine call’ to become a pastor. He noted he had parted ways with secular music and would be singing about the love of Christ in order to win souls.
Contrary to his statements, Ofori Amponsah is back to highlife claiming that the secular music space will provide him with a bigger opportunity to spread the gospel. He has subsequently released a song titled undefined which features Sarkodie.
