7 reasons why Samini is better than Shatta Wale

Check out 7 reasons why Samini is better than Shatta Wale below.

Samini sees no reason to end the never ending beef with fellow Dancehall musician Shatta Wale, thus, he has dropped another diss track to indict the fellow star. The "Linda" hitmaker dropped a diss track titled "Vex Madd" last week where he divulged the pains he went through during their heated beef, the the lies Shatta told about him and in fact, described him (Shatta Wale) as an 'old dog who needs makeover'.

Shatta, in response didn't counteract with a diss track, rather, he opted for 'finger reply'. He took to Twitter to tell Samini that, if he has "vexed, he should blame his motherf*****".

Music lovers, Disc Jockeys and music pundits over the years have been split on who indeed is the ‘dancehall king’ between the two acts. But in a two-part series, Pulse Music will highlight the factors that make each artiste better than the other. In this part, we present to you 7 reasons why Samini is better than his arch-rival Shatta Wale.

We must however point out before we move ahead to our factors that Samini is the only artiste who has dissed Shatta in a track which was subsequently nominated for a Ghana Music Award.  Samini’s “Scatta Badman” was nominated for a nod at the 2014 Ghana Music Awards but Shatta Wale won the gong. Also, Samini has more hits songs and album credit than Wale. Shatta Wale has released over 4 dissed songs against Samini but none was a commercial hit. It takes a genius to do this!

We can list over ten factors but we are going to focus on the most significant ones. Check them out!

1. Samini is an all-round performer

Emmanuel Andrew Samini popularly known on stage as Samini is versatile. He performs every genre popular in Ghana – be it Reggae, Ragga, Hi-life, Hip-life, R&B, Afro-pop or the ultimate Dancehall. Although, Shatta Wale began his career with Hip-life, you will find it difficult to hear him perform the genre after his major comeback as a dancehall artiste. This is one of the reasons why Samini possesses a more matured fan base.

2. He’s got a higher international recognition/clout

Samini is considered one of the best Afro-pop performers in Africa and that’s what earned him “Best African Act” award at the 2006 MOBO Awards,  “Best Performer” award at 2009 MTV African Music Awards plus several international awards nominations, stage performances and ambassadorial roles. He has performed alongside international acts like Sean Paul, Akon, Kevin Lyttle, Shaggy, Wayne Wonder, Damien Marley, Bennie Man, Jay-Z, Chaka Demus & Pliers, late Joseph Hills aka Culture and Steel Pulse.

And oh, before Fuse ODG took all the Afro-pop credits in UK, there was Samini.

3. He is the best live band performer

Give Samini a live instrumentation and he will show you how to drive his patrons crazy. This is one of the reasons why he has a mature fan base – this is because the elderly always want sounds that would help them reminisce about the good old days.

But what do we see with Shatta Wale? He is fond of ‘miming’ all the time and the day a DJ fails to give him good sounds while performing, he will diss him or her. MzVee’s album launch which took place at the Accra Mall car park last year was a perfect example.

4. He’s got swag

Samini is stylish and got swag. Just check his dreadlocks. He always appears simple in either a white T-Shirt, a pair of denim trousers and sneakers or all-black suit. Meet Shatta Wale one-on-one and you would find 6 different heavy necklace, two wrist watches plus another set of bracelets on each arm.

Upon his riches, he doesn’t flaunt his expensive jewelleries - wrist watches, necklace and bracelets. Pulse.com.gh can confirm that Samini has a fleet of cars – including Range Rover, Escalade, Camry, Hyundai and motor bikes. He spends money on expensive cars but doesn’t flaunt or spend unnecessarily on number plates. Samini’s descent lifestyle and handsomeness puts him ahead of his arch-rival Shatta Wale and you would always love to hang out with him.

5. He’s got a solid fan base

Samini’s fan base was built over ten years ago and yet functioning. Samini will never organize a show and see below thousands of fans attend.  Shatta came from hiatus – he lost his fans before gathering them once again.

6. Samini is a business oriented artiste

Apart from securing a very long ambassadorial deal with telecommunication giants, MTN, Samini owns one of the busiest pubs in Accra –Dancestardom in Dansoman. He joins the likes of comedian Funny Face and rap legend Reggie Rockstone to own such booming business centres in the capital of Ghana. Besides, Samini and his management can almost always secure quick sponsorship deals for any show he wants to organize because of the trust that he has gained from co-operate bodies.

7. He is consistent in the music industry

Finally, Samini’s consistency in the music industry is exceptional.  You would hardly find an urban/contemporary Ghanaian musician reign in the music industry for over 10 years and still be relevant the way Samini has been. Remember, Shatta Wale came from a long time break but Samini has never gone on a break – he has  always been on point.
