Leicester consider Ghanaian as N'Golo Kante replacement

The Ghana defender, who excelled in midfield for Danish giants Copenhagen before switching to the Foxes in January, has been pencilled down to replace the French player in the heart of Leicester's midfield.

Ghana international Daniel Amartey is seen as an ideal replacement for midfielder N'Golo Kante leaves for Leicester City nex season.

Coach Claudio Ranieri views Amartey as the player who can easily slot into Kante's position having played in that position with the rich experience of playing in a similar role in the UEFA Champions League for FC Copenhagen.

Amartey started in midfield against Paris Saint Germain and offers an intriguing possibility in the position. Bought for £5m from the Danish giants, the consensus prevailed that he was a central defender who could operate at right-back.
