An ultra-modern campus for the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho has been completed and ready for commissioning.

Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Seth Terkper presenting the 2016 budget revealed that UHAS in the Volta Region, has been completed and ready to be commissioned by President John Dramani Mahama.

The facility described as having a very “unique” architecture has dedicated sporting areas at the students’ hostels with inbuilt water reservoir and solar panels for streetlights.

The permanent campus, which has seven laboratories, libraries, ICT centre, classroom and administration blocks, cafeteria and auditorium, would house the School of Allied and Health Sciences and the School of Basic Biomedicals.

The School of Medicine and Nursing and Midwifery would, however, remain at the old campus in the yard of the Regional Hospital.

The School of Public Health is located at Hohoe.
