The march to picket at the Electoral Commission by Let my Vote Count Alliance is underway . Scores of people have joined the Let my Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA), Movement for Change, Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG), CHAMPS, and other associations, to put pressure on the Electoral Commission to prepare a new voters register.
The march became possible after the group firmed up an agreement with the police who initially wanted to prevent the group from going ahead with the peaceful demonstration.
The police had earlier described the EC premise as a security zone and tried to prevent the group from picketing.
Police public affairs director Superintendent Cephas Arthur told Pulse.com.gh that the march has so far been peaceful.

NPP national youth organiser Sammy Awuku also told Pulse.com.gh that they will not compromise on their demand. He said an new voter's register is what they seek and not an audited register.
The walk will end at the Electoral commission where the group will picket aamid drumming and dancing.

The march is to support the New Patriotic Party’s call for a new voters register. The EC has started receiving proposals from all the political parties on the NPP’s petition last month.

The EC is expected to make a decision on the 23rd of September after an IPAC meeting.
The NPP says there are thousands of foreign nationals on the register making it incredible for the 2016 elections.
