Kotoko fans and journalist asked to settle assault case out of court

Asokwa Police has asked the Jem FM journalist, the victim and the Kotoko fans, who were culprits of the assault case to settle the matter out of court.

Gomez was assaulted by some Kotoko fans on match day 22 when running commentary in the Porcupine Warriors 1-0 win against Dreams FC.

Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) and other pressure groups have criticised the the acts of the Kotoko fans

The case was reported to the Police, however, sources close to Pulse Sports say that the two notable culprits, Twum and Seidu and the victim, Gomez were invited by the Police and after several deliberations, they were advised to settle the matter out of court.

According to the source, the two leading supporters who instigated and led the assault were warned to refrain from such acts, while the victim was also cautioned not to continue running commentary at places not authorised for such acts.
