Ghana's ex-presidents, Robert Mugabe and more grace Independence Day celebrations

The event was attended by Justices of the Supreme Court, members of the diplomatic corps and traditional leaders among others.

Zimbabwe president, Robert Mugabe, was among the many African leaders who also partook in Ghana’s 60 Independence Day anniversary parade.

The 93-year-old leader is undoubtedly one of the most popular African leaders in Ghana.

He gained much popularity in the West African country over some striking comments he made especially with regards to his country’s stance on homosexuality.

Vice President of Zambia, Inonge Wina; and Togo’s president, Faure Gnassingbé.

The theme for Ghana’s 60 anniversary is "Mobilising for Ghana’s future."

Ghana was the first Sub-Saharan African country to gain independence after struggles led by its first President Dr Kwame Nkrumah.
