The Accra Regional Police on Wednesday arrested the man who was allegedly behind the disruption of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) press conference at Ablekuma South in Accra.
A press conference called by a leading member of the New Patriotic Party last Tuesday at Chorkor ended in chaos with gun shots fired.
According to the Daily Graphic, Mr Kofi Asante, who is the Ablekuma South Constituency organiser of the NPP, was granted bail after questioning.
Background
A member of the party, Ato Quashie who called the press conference on recent developments in the party was stopped by some angry youth who stormed the venue of the press conference, breaking bottles, destroying chairs and firing gunshots.
But the police were swift to intervene to maintain law and order.
Meanwhile, Mr Ato Quarshie and his group have accused the NPP flag bearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, of being the cause of the disunity in the party and warned that this could spell doom for the party in the 2016 elections.
