President Mahama has filed his nomination forms

President John Dramani Mahama will today file his nomination for the November 7 presidential primaries of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, last week, picked the presidential nomination forms on behalf of the president who was attending to other pressing issues.

Officials say that he is expected to submit his forms at the party’s office in Adabraka at exactly 4pm local time.

President Mahama is expected to face competition from George Boateng, a former constituency executive of the party, who has revealed that he will pick new forms today after party executives said the initial one he bought was a draft copy.

The National Democratic Congress will on Thursday close nominations to members interested in contesting the presidential and parliamentary primaries.
