Education has also helped many people to accomplish their dreams and also get them to places they never dreamt of.

Some of our Celebrities have also been able to get to where they wanted to get to with the help of education and are able to speak fluent English which has helped them to read and understand any contracts they are entering into before they sign them.

There are many who have been able to make it in life through their talents and with the help of others but when it comes to their educational background, they had not had much education in their lives as they were growing up.

There are very beautiful and talented celebrities in the various entertainment industries in Ghana and people who follow them sometimes have little knowledge of their educational histories. This article will showcase six such personalities and their educational backgrounds.


1. Becca

The latest graduate and valedictorian in town, Becca attended Morning Star school and later proceeded to Wesley Girls' High School located in Cape Coast, Central Region.

She obtained a Master's degree in Brands and Communication from UPSA. She graduated top of the 2022 class with a recorded CGPA of 3.92.

The 'Daa Ke Da' singer is also an alumnus of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). She studied Operations and Project Management and graduated with First Class Honors.


2. John Dumelo

In 2020, the Ghanaian actor graduated from GIMPA's School of Public Service and Governance, years after obtaining his first degree in Civil Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and had his secondary education at Achimota School.

John Dumelo bagged his second Master's Degree in July 2022.

3. Sister Derby


Deborah Vanessa graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Publishing Studies from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology after finishing her secondary school at Wesley Girls' High School before which she attended Christ the King International School.

An internship in a publishing house in New Jersey gave the 'Uncle Obama' singer the push she needed to attain a Masters in Book/Journal Publishing from the University of the Arts London. She graduated in 2009, gaining popularity in Ghana later on.

4. Okyeame Kwame


Popularly known as the Rap Doctor, Okyeame Kwame has a Master's Degree in Strategic Marketing from the University of Ghana, where he graduated in 2016.

For his first degree, he studied Akan and Sociology at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology under the tutelage of Dr Daniel Amponsah a.k.a. Agya Koo Nimo. Agya Koo Nimo taught him Classical Guitar and Philosophy in African Music.

Growing up, Kwame's parents expected him to become a physician, yet he gained interest in rap music from a very young age when he wrote his own songs and performed at local shows during his days at the Anglican Senior High School in Kumasi.

5. Naa Ashorkor


Naa Ashorkor has constantly entertained Ghanaians on radio, television, in movies and at events. The media personality and actress known for her eloquence is a product of the Ghana Institute of Journalism, where she attained her first and second degrees. In 2021, she bagged a Master's Degree in Public Relations from GIJ.

She started her studies at Daras School from Nursery through to Junior High School (JHS).

Naa Ashorkor after finishing Junior High, she went to study at Benkum Secondary School (Akuapem Larteh) which was the pillar of her Public Speaking.

6. Joselyn Dumas


Ghanaian television host and actress Joselyn had her basic education at Morning Star School and proceeded to the Archbishop Porter Girls High School where she became the Entertainment Prefect.

Joselyn furthered her studies in the United States where she studied to earn a Degree in Administrative Law.
