It's early 2017 but these Ghanaians are already making us proud

From 15-year-old actor Abraham Attah to fashion power player Edward Enninful, here are five Ghanaians who have stood out to make us proud.

David Adjaye

David Adjaye, Ghanaian-British Architect was named as part of Time magazine's 100 most influential personalities in the world.

This is the first time a Ghanaian has been included in the list. He was born in Tanzania to Ghanaian parents, he lived throughout Africa and the Middle East before his family settled in Britain.

The magazine recognized David Adjaye as "one of the great architectural visionaries of our time".

Writing about the architect, Thelma Golden, the director and chief curator of the Studio Museum in Harlem, said "David made us aware of how can a building be true to the earthbound burdens of centuries of oppression and struggle, while at the same time displaying the faith, joy, and triumphs of African-American life".

Edward Eninful

Ghanaian-born Edward Eninful has been appointed as the new editor of British Vogue. Condé Nast International chairman and chief executive Jonathan Newhouse disclosed that Eninful is "an influential figure in the communities of fashion, Hollywood and music which shape the cultural zeitgeist", adding that "by virtue of his talent and experience, Edward is supremely prepared to assume the responsibility of British Vogue."

Enninful spent his childhood in London where, aged 16, he was model-scouted and his fashion career began.

Nancy Abu-Bonsrah

In the 30 years that Johns Hopkins School of Medicine's neurosurgical department has accepted residents, Nancy Abu-Borsah is the first black woman to be accepted in the ranks.

Abu-Bonsrah lived in Ghana until she was 15, and also attended Johns Hopkins medical school.

Stormzy

Michael Omari known by the stage name Stormzy rise to fame began with his video freestyle series Wicked Skengman, on YouTube.

He grew up in Thornton Heath, south London and attended Harris Academy in South Norwood where he received six A* GCSES.

He boasts that he received equally impressive A-Level results and considered heading to study at Oxford until he made a name for himself in grime.

The 23-year-old English Pop and hip hop artist won Best Grime Act at the 2014 and 2015 MOBO Awards and was named as an artist to look out for in the BBC's influential Sound of 2015 list.

Abraham Attah

The 15-year-old actor gained international prominence after his challenging role in Beast of No Nation, directed by Emmy Award-winning Cary Fukunaga.

He acted alongside award-winning actors including Idris Elba, Ama K. Abebrese, Fred Amugi and Grace Nortey. . Shot in Ghana, the movie was based on the 2005 novel of the same title by Uzodinma Iweala. It stars Ama K. Abebrese, Fred Amugi and Grace Nortey.

Producers of the movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, have released a second trailer, which stars Ghanaian actor, Abraham Attah.

The trailer of the movie set, for official release on July 7, also stars Robert Downey Jr, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Tom Holland and many others and will definitely be a box office hit.
