She also added that she says the things she say because she is just being herself and that she had been taught to speak the truth as long as it is not hurting anyone’s feelings.
Ghanaian model and singer, Deborah Vanessa, best known as Sister Derbie has been hit with many controversies over the years and one can say that it is through these controversies that has made her popular. She has however admitted to that fact.
“I could agree that, being controversial as people say, is what has made me popular”, she stated. “Especially because of my ‘Uncle Obama’ song, me agreeing to pre-marital sex on television, and me saying marijuana is not a drug, and me releasing my artistic nude on social media”, she added.
Deborah stated this in an interview with infoboxx adding that though people saw her nude picture as controversial, she did not see anything wrong with it as according to her, she did not expose any private parts.
“In Ghana it will be controversial but there are a lot of models who put more revealing pictures but people don’t say anything. At the end of the day, breast was not showing, nipples were not showing, ‘Vajaja’ wasn’t showing, it didn’t cause anyone any harm so I don’t see it as bad”, she stated.
The 'Borla' singer also added that she say the things she say because, she likes to be herself and she had been taught to speak the truth as long as it is not hurting anyone’s feelings.
“...However I understand that our society will find it controversial because we are taught to be timid, even if you know the truth you have to keep quite kind of thing”, she said.
