On March 24, a day before the encounter, the actor/politician asked the Nigerian Men’s National Football team to eliminate any expectation to win against the Black Stars.

“The Super Eagles should stop dreaming. They can't win their game in Ghana. If they do, I will…," he wrote on Twitter.

On the morning of the match-day, he vowed to walk from Accra to the economic capital of Nigeria, Lagos, if Ghana loses the first leg of the tie with the Super Eagles.

After his remarks, many Ghanaians on Twitter reacted to his post; some confirming his confidence and others saying he should “relax” as he is being overly “confident.”

John Dumelo is not the only Ghanaian celebrity who has shared his thoughts about the upcoming match.

Kofi Kinaata, Wendy Shay and several others have predicted a win for Ghana ahead of the game. Wendy Shay predicted a 2-1 win against Nigeria.

Earlier, Kofi Kinaata was elated about the call up of a local footballer into Ghana's 27-man squad announced by coach Otto Addo.

The highlife artiste's post appeared content with the Black Stars coach’s selection for the 2022 World Cup play-off.

Nana Aba Anamoah also took the opportunity presented by the match to revive the debate on the Ghana Nigeria Jollof.
