Poor content quality still a major issue in Nigeria - Media Personality

The veteran broadcaster called for an improvement in the content pushed out by players in the entertainment industry.

Emmanuel Ugolee is the host of The Gist.

Despite the positive development in the Nigerian entertainment industry, Ugolee maintained that the poor quality of contents remains an issue of concern.

According to "The Gist" anchor, this dysfunctionality is what sets show business in Nigeria apart and far behind when compared to western societies such as the United States.

Ugolee thinks there is too much appreciation for hype as opposed to quality material especially among musicians.

Using Burna Boy as an example, the popular broadcaster noted that a bunch of artistes have intentionally stuck to a style due to fans patronage.

This has led to a loss of identity and boredom due to the fact that most of Nigeria's music stars try to sound the same.

To correct this, Ugolee who recently had a kidney transplant proposed that the artistes as well as film producers take charge of their contents and determine what is served to their audience.
