I cannot be cool with Shatta Wale – Samini

There has been a long prevailing feud between the two acts which to some extent has led to some sort of squabble between their loyal fans.

Samini Dagaati

Dancehall artiste, Samini has declared he cannot be ‘cool’ with his perceived rival, Shatta Wale.

Samini speaking on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review on Saturday indicated that Shatta Wale went beyond the limit when he insulted his [Samini’s] mother.

“If you go on stage and say, ‘everybody in this crowd, if you like Samini, go s*ck your mother’, and people hear this, go tell my mum that I am engaged in a beef where we are insulting our mothers… that’s why I say it’s gone beyond the limit so I won’t even entertain that. In this case, I don’t have anything against you as an artiste but I can’t be cool with you,” he noted when panelist, Socrate Sarfo asked if he cannot forgive Shatta Wale despite an apology from the latter.

“If someone disrespects your mum, you can’t be cool with them regardless. How do you see my mum? That my mum sells pito and all that… It’s [beefing] normal but not when it extends to my mother,” Samini added.

According to Samini, he has principles and, “if someone is not in line with it, then you try to avoid him.”

Samini and Shatta Wale have been involved in a lyrical war for quite some time now. According to Shatta Wale, Samini had told some event organisers to drop him but Samini has denied doing so. They have both jabbed each other on various songs they composed.
