Nicki Minaj introduces mom at 2015 BET Awards

Nicki Minaj, while accepting her first award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, she gave special thanks to her mom who stood beside her onstage

Rapper,Nicki Minaj, was joined onstage by her look-alike mom, Carol, to accept her big award at the 2015 BET Awards on Sunday.

The 32-year-old rapper won the award for best female hip-hop artist, beating out Iggy Azalea, Azaelia Banks, and more.

In her acceptance speech, Nicki said, “I always talk about my mommy and this is the first time the world is going to see her".“I love you so much,” she added.

Carol, in an interview with Essence proudly said she raised an award-winning daughter.

“I always tell my children to persevere. If they keep pressing toward what they want, it’s going to happen. A superstar needs to be in touch with their gifts. There’s a certain measure of humility that they must keep as they go forward", She added.

Nicki Minaj performed alongside Meek Mill at the 2015 BET awards.
