Speaking to the issue on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz on Thursday, Mzbel who received public backlash after espousing her anti theist beliefs said she was disappointed by the harsh comments on her risqué dressing.
She told show host, KMJ, she was only doing business as a showbiz personality.
“I didn’t come to this industry to preach the gospel. Why can’t people separate my business from who I am? I have disciplined kids... I am highly disappointed Ghanaians have not accepted who I am after eleven years. Some are just being hypocrites,” she said.

Mzbel lamented that the likes of Kim Kardashian and Beyonce receive complements from Ghanaians for doing same and could not fathom why her case was different.
Asked if her dressing has mostly being criticised for not being part of the Ghanaian culture, Mzbel answered, “If it is culture differences then we should stop whatever we are doing because it is not our culture. Everything we do here is not part of our culture. People walk in the scorching sun in suit and tie. Is that dressing a Ghanaian culture? First, people were complaining; but now I make sure the pictures are taken carefully.”
