My BET Awards nomination, a motivation for female musicians

The first Ghanaian female to have secured a nomination at the BET in an interview on Live FM’s Live Breakfast Café urged her colleagues not to be dispirited in their quest to do music but be inspired by her nomination.

“This is just the beginning for Ghana and the females in the industry and I hope a lot of them are going to do better things, bigger and better things so yeah… My nomination is just to tell the ladies out there not to give up in their careers. There is hope and they should keep doing what they are doing and work hard,” she said.

Earlier, the singer expressed gratitude to everyone who has contributed to her success shortly after her nomination.

MzVee has been nominated in the Best International Act: Africa category alongside AKA (South Africa), Black Coffee (South Africa), Cassper Nyovest (South Africa), Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Serge Beynaud (Cote D’ivoire), Wizkid (Nigeria) and Yemi Alade (Nigeria).

She is known for many hit tracks including Natural Girl, Borkor Borkor, Hold Me Now, Mensuro Obiaa and Revolution.
